Apple says the M6 Mac mini delivers up to 4x faster AI performance, making local models more practical. More prompts, files, and personal data can stay on hardware you control instead of constantly going to the cloud.
There is a speed advantage too. A local assistant can search files, summarize documents, and handle small tasks without waiting on an internet connection.
⚙️ A Different Kind of AI Infrastructure
Apple is betting people will want a small machine quietly running personal agents all day. Think less “new Siri feature” and more a private AI box sitting on your desk.
That could mean organizing documents, summarizing new files, or running simple automations in the background. The Mac mini starts looking less like a desktop and more like a personal AI appliance.
🌐 Runway Wants to Replace Apps With Generated Interfaces
Runway introduced Solaris, its first Interface World Model. Instead of loading a fixed app or website, Solaris generates the interface itself in real time as you click, drag, and type.
🌀 The Screen Becomes the Software
Every frame is synthesized as you interact, so objects and layouts can respond without every behavior being coded beforehand. Runway says the goal is software that behaves more like a living visual environment than a stack of fixed pages.
🧩 Apps Could Stop Being the Unit
Runway imagines an operating system generating whatever interface you need on demand, rather than making you open separate apps. Solaris is early, though: stable text, long sessions, accessibility, and trust are still unresolved.
