Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Sol arrived last Tuesday, with both companies promising stronger performance for less money. The competition now includes how cheaply their agents can finish the job.

☀️ OpenAI Cuts Sol’s Price in Half
GPT-6 Sol costs $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, half its predecessor’s promotional rates. OpenAI also reports roughly half as many mistakes on its internal factuality test.
🟠 Anthropic Answers With Opus 5.5
And it’s a beast of a model, even outperforming Fable 5.1 in the benchmarks. It costs $4/$20 per million input/output tokens. Anthropic says typical workloads cost 40% less than Opus 5, with output arriving over 30% faster.
⚖️ The Cheapest Tokens Don’t Always Win
Opus 5.5 just claimed the top spot on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, landing five points clear of OpenAI's own flagship, GPT-6 Astra. Sol still wins on price per token, but Opus is the model the internet can't stop talking about.
🛰️ Google Is Sending AI Chips Into Orbit
Google’s Project Suncatcher is preparing its first orbital hardware test. A prototype carrying four of Google’s AI chips is scheduled to launch Oct. 1.
🔋 Chasing Nonstop Sunlight
Solar power is the draw. Google says suitable orbits offer near-continuous sunlight and potentially up to eight times the solar power available to comparable systems on Earth.
🧊 Cooling Is the Catch
Space is cold, but there’s no air to carry heat away. This prototype’s cooling system only supports about 15 minutes of operation before the chips need to shut down and cool off.
🔭 An Experiment, Not a Data Center
It’s a hardware test, not commercial AI infrastructure. Google plans to test connections between two satellites in 2027, working toward clusters linked by high-speed lasers.

Challenge: ChatGPT Voice just picked up agent powers on mobile, so this week we’re doing our busywork out loud. Pick a walk, commute, or coffee line and see how much morning admin you can clear without typing.
Here's what to do:
🔌 Step 1: Connect your apps. In the ChatGPT app, link your email and calendar, plus Slack if you use it. These connections now work inside voice chats, even on the free plan.
🗣️ Step 2: Get briefed out loud. Start a voice chat and ask: “What’s on my calendar today, and which emails need a reply before noon?”
✉️ Step 3: Reply by talking. Have it draft answers to your two most urgent emails in your own tone, then read them over before anything goes out.
📄 Step 4: Hand off a bigger job. On Plus or Pro, open the Work tab and ask for a one-page meeting agenda or a short slide deck from last week’s notes, then polish it on your computer later.
